North Carolina Governor to Consider “Ag-Gag” Bill
On Monday, North Carolina’s legislature approved House Bill 405, called the Property Protection Act, sending it to the desk of Governor Pat McCrory. The proposed bill would enable businesses to sue individuals who filmed or recorded business practices or procedures without authorization, leading many animal rights groups to call it an “ag-gag,” as it would criminalize undercover investigations that expose conditions in animal industries.
