Luxury Vegan Boot Camp in France
Imagine a place where you can lose weight, sleep in a medieval mansion, eat deliciously prepared plant-based meals, have time by the pool, and drink wine with dinner… oh and did I mention it’s in France? According to their Facebook page:
“Camp Biche is the original luxury, fitness, vegan, weight-loss, boot camp. Wine is served with dinner. We are the kinder, gentler, life-changing boot camp.”
How is that even possible? A boot camp that sounds more like a luxury spa than somewhere you’d find Jillian Michaels shouting down at you to do one more push-up? Fantasy right? Nope. A recent study concluded:
“People on a vegetarian diet, and especially those following a vegan one that includes no animal products, see better results than dieters on other weight-reducing plans.”
Another study provides more evidence that switching to a veg diet would result in pounds dropping.
“…those on vegetarian diets lost around 4.4 pounds more than the control group (who had no change in diet), while those on a vegan diet dropped 5.5 pounds more.”
It sounds like Camp Biche is in on to something:
“Camp Biche gives you a fresh new perspective on how to eat and live to be your best self…”
While I haven’t been to Camp Biche myself and am unable to serve up a first-hand account, there are plenty of raving reviews and that mean Camp Binche will remain on my bucket list of places to go.
Meanwhile, since running away to France just isn’t in my family’s budget, I’ve decided to re-create that spa experience at home! No, not the sleeping in the medieval mansion part, nor drinking expensive Parisian wine, ok…not even eating haute French cuisine, because that would mean cooking haute French cuisine…but the plant-based eating, moderation, moving my body, and wine with dinner – THAT I can do!
