UK Travelodge Offering Vegan Breakfast!
UK Travelodge, a budget hotel chain, have announced the launch of their new and revamped unlimited menu–which will include both vegetarian and vegan options!
The plant-based breakfast options will be available at all 148 of the hotel’s locations throughout the UK, with children eating for free. The company stated that sales have already boosted as a result of their offerings, and added:
“The new breakfast has been designed to improve the breakfast experience for vegetarians and vegans, and features vegetarian sausages and granary bread suitable for vegans.”
The results come after a one-year “taste-test” period, where Travelodge worked with customers in order to create the new menu offerings and to reflect the changing needs of their guests. The customers were able to try different types of sausages, bacon, granola, as well as beverages, in order for the hotel chain to survey the results. The findings showed that modern travellers wanted more options–especially healthier or “lighter” menu items, in addition to traditional foods.
Karen Broughton, the Sales and Marketing Director at Travelodge, stated:
“Britain’s breakfast is changing. More and more of our customers are telling us they value a choice of great coffees and healthier options, as well as the traditional full cooked breakfast. Whether it’s premium Lavazza coffee, fruit salad, or vegetarian options from the Linda McCartney range, our new breakfast menu is in touch with the needs of modern travellers looking for quality and value.”
The prices for the new menu are £7.95 (approx. $12) per adult for the unlimited breakfast, and £5.75 (approx. $8.70) for the lighter option.
With an increase in sales already, this decision has also put them above their main competitions in both variety and price!
