San Francisco's 4th Annual Vegan Iron Chef Battle Returns!
For all the fans of Vegan Iron Chef, make sure to get your tickets for the 4th annual competition in San Francisco on Wednesday February 24!
This time, the challenge has been elevated to All-Star edition, where all of the past winners will compete with each other, taking the competition to a new level! The show is of course modeled on the popular reality cooking game show Iron Chef on the Food Network, which features challenger chefs who compete with an iron chef in a cooking competition that features one or more secret ingredients.
The past three winners in order were Lisa Books-Williams, Jay Astafa, and Kevin Schuder. Books-Williams is a personal chef, caterer, certified Green Chef Instructor, and an award-winning raw food chef. Astafa is a vegan chef who graduated from New York’s Natural Gourmet Institute. He created an all-vegan Italian inspired menu for his father’s restaurant called 3 Brothers Pizza Cafe, and the pizza was named “PETA’s Best Vegan Pizza” in 2011. Schuder has been cooking professionally in the Bay Area for over eight years, and has worked in such prestigious places such as Yield Wine Bar and Takashi Saito, and opened the Pause Wine Bar in San Francisco.
The website promises an “epic battle” with lots of surprises, and the show will feature Colleen Holland, Dustin Harder, and George Lin as the judges, with Lani Muelrath as the emcee.
To watch vegan chefs battle it out and create some unforgettable dishes as a result, make sure to get your tickets (basic, deluxe, premium options) for the 4th annual Vegan Iron Chef this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Club Verdi!
